Leverage raises exposure well beyond the amount deposited.
The check that matters most for a UAE reader is not the spread. It is which legal entity you sign with. Mitrade holds a UAE Securities and Commodities Authority licence, now branded as CMA, under Category 5. That licence covers arranging and advisory only, not order execution, so the trading itself is carried offshore through Mitrade Holding Ltd in the Cayman Islands under CIMA. That single fact shapes everything else we look at.
We fund accounts, trade them, withdraw from them, and read the client agreements line by line. The goal is not to sell a signup. It is to show what the platform does, where it gets thin, and which checks to run before sending money.
Broker snapshot
Mitrade is an app-first CFD broker founded in 2011, operating through a multi-entity structure that includes ASIC, CIMA, FSCA, Mauritius, CySEC and the UAE CMA. For UAE residents the regulated layer and the execution layer sit in different jurisdictions, and that gap is what you are actually testing.
Costs are competitive. Zero commission, GER40 from 0.4 pip with a 1.3 pip average, and a minimum deposit around USD 20 to 50. The platform is proprietary, runs on TradingView-powered charts, and there is no MT4 or MT5. If your strategy depends on expert advisors or custom MT4 indicators, that alone is a dealbreaker.
Trustpilot sits around 4.7 out of 5 across roughly 2,500 reviews. Withdrawal-delay and account-liquidation complaints appear in that same pool. A high rating and a pattern of friction are not mutually exclusive.

How We Verify a Licence
The first step with any broker marketing into the UAE is pulling the registration number off the client agreement and matching it against a public register. Not the homepage badge. Not the footer. The legal entity name on the document you sign.
Any firm offering forex, CFDs or investment services to the UAE public needs a local licence from one of three bodies, and each one applies in a different part of the country.
| Regulator | Where it applies | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| CMA, formerly SCA | UAE mainland | uaecma.gov.ae, open-data register |
| DFSA | DIFC free zone | dfsa.ae/public-register/firms |
| FSRA | ADGM, Abu Dhabi | ADGM public register |
With Mitrade, the CMA registration covers the advisory and arranging side. Order execution sits with the offshore entity, so the leverage test applies against offshore rules, not local ones.
Where We Pressure-Test Conditions
Leverage is the clearest test of which rulebook applies. Mitrade offers up to 1:200 on FX through the offshore entity. Mainland CMA rules cap retail FX at roughly 1:50 on majors, 1:20 on minors and exotics, 1:10 on commodities and 1:3 on stocks. DFSA in the DIFC applies around 1:30, aligned with European standards.
That is the practical reality of where the account is booked, and it is the same for every offshore-marketed broker you will compare. Size positions with the right margin math in mind.
Funding and withdrawal were tracked with real money. Deposits by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay land instantly. Bank transfers take around one to two business days. Skrill and Neteller sit in between. The friction point is not the deposit. It is the withdrawal queue once an account has been flagged for review.
| Payment rail | Typical speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Card, Apple/Google Pay | Instant | Local Visa/Mastercard accepted |
| Skrill, Neteller | Minutes to hours | E-wallet route |
| UAE bank transfer | 1-2 business days | Emirates NBD, ADCB, DIB |
| Withdrawal review | Varies | Where most delays show up |
Costs sit where the marketing says they do. Zero commission, GER40 from 0.4 pip with a 1.3 pip average. One line rarely makes the front page: a USD 10 per month inactivity fee that kicks in after six months of no trading.
Base currencies are USD, AUD and EUR. No AED account was verified, so an AED-in, USD-account setup carries a conversion cost on every deposit and withdrawal. The dirham is pegged to the dollar at roughly 3.6725, so that spread is usually small, but it is not zero, and over a year of active funding it adds up.
What No Swap-Free Account Means
Mitrade does not offer a swap-free or Islamic account. At all.
For a Muslim-majority market where swap-free accounts are close to a standard expectation, that is a real gap. Of 67 brokers we cover in the UAE, 54 offer one. If you hold positions overnight on FX or metals, the financing charge will apply, and for anyone following Sharia principles around riba, that is not a minor footnote. It usually decides the choice on its own.

Payout delays and liquidation notices
- Withdrawal delays. Trustpilot reviews flag slow payouts. Account verification is the usual bottleneck.
- Account liquidation. There are complaints about positions closed for margin reasons without what traders felt was clear prior notice. That is standard CFD mechanics, but the communication around it is where brokers differentiate.
- No MT4 or MT5. The proprietary app is clean, but you cannot port an EA or a custom MT4 indicator library onto it.
- No standard bonus. No deposit match, no promotional credit.
- Confirmation bias in reviews. A 4.7 out of 5 rating with a steady tail of payout complaints tells you the platform is pleasant to use and the edge cases are where people get frustrated.
None of that makes Mitrade unusable. It makes it a broker to choose with the friction points already priced into your decision. Check the SCA and DFSA warnings pages before funding any broker, and note that regulators have flagged firms impersonating well-known exchanges through cold calls, WhatsApp and social media. That is a broader UAE scam pattern, not specific to Mitrade, but it is exactly why we verify the entity on your agreement rather than the logo on the ad.
What Changes in Six Months
Regulators rebrand, entities get added, fees get adjusted, and the terms you signed under may not be the terms you trade under later. The CMA renaming from SCA is a live example: the branding changed on 1 January 2026, and anyone who verified a licence in 2024 needs to re-check what the register now says.
| Platform | Runs on | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| TradingView | desktop / web / mobile | Charting and community |
| MT4 | desktop / web / mobile | Forex and CFDs, expert advisors |
| MT5 | desktop / web / mobile | Multi-asset, more timeframes |
What we will re-test on Mitrade specifically is the entity structure, the swap-free question, the inactivity fee terms, and whether withdrawal processing improves or repeats the delay pattern. Those four items carry the most risk of quietly shifting under you.
The version of this page a year from now may look different in the details. The method will not.
Questions
How does Mitrade's UAE licence differ from its offshore one?
The CMA Category 5 licence covers arranging and advisory only, not order execution. Your trades execute through the offshore entity, which is why leverage can reach 1:200 rather than the local CMA retail cap of roughly 1:50 on majors.
What is Mitrade's inactivity fee?
Mitrade charges USD 10 per month once an account has been inactive for six months. It does not appear in the headline spread figures, but it applies to dormant funded accounts.
Can I check Mitrade's licence myself?
Yes. Match the legal entity on your client agreement against the DFSA register at dfsa.ae/public-register/firms or the CMA open-data register at uaecma.gov.ae. Ignore badges on the website and verify the entity you actually contract with.
